Do you have any secrets?

Some secrets may be best kept secret, but certain secrets can destroy your life and the lives of others around you.  If you have a destructive secret you're not alone.

Secrets are like termites in your house.  Others might not know they are there.  But you can only keep them secret for so long before the house starts crashing down around you.  Unfortunately, innocent people often get hurt from the falling debris.  This falling debris can destroy your life and your family's.

Do you have any termites in your house?  Secrets that are eating you up inside but you're afraid to ask for help because......they're secrets!

Proverbs 28: 13 says,  "He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy."  God knows every secret.  And God loves you!  And prosperity awaits you!

Houses cannot become homes when secrets exists between those living inside.  Confess your sins to God and receive the gift of life today that God wants you to enjoy.  Ask a mature and trustworthy pastor or counselor to help you with your struggle to find peace.

Find an accountability partner.  Accountability partners don't judge each other they share mutual struggles and encouragement.  You are not the only one with the secret!

We all start out as babies in life.  There was a time in our lives when we each needed to wear diapers.  But healthy babies grow up.  And as we grew we found there was a better way than wearing diapers.  We gained control of our bowels and our bladders and we got rid of the diapers.

As we grew older we also gained control of our tongues, feet, eyes and hands.  Some of us have learned to control them in a way that make it evident we have matured spiritually and emotionally, as well as physically.

While others act as though they have little control of them and use them in a way that is abusive and damaging to themselves and others.

How are you using your tongue, your feet, your eyes and your hands?  Are you using them in a way that is loving and contructive?  Or are you using them in a way that is destroying your life and the lives of others around you?

In 2 Corinthians 4: 2 the Apostle Paul wrote, "We have renounced secret and shameful ways."  I think of King David who thought his sins of adultery and planning the murder of Bathsheba's husband were secret.  In Psalm 51 David discovers it was no secret at all and he asks God to have mercy on him.

In Psalm 51: 1, 2, David said, "Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love;  according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.   Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin."  On down at verse 10, he said, "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me."

The word "create" used by David in verse 10 is the same word used for "create" in Genesis 1: 1.  It is a creation only God can do.  It is a creation from nothing.  David's heart was broken, shattered, gone, and he wanted God to create in him a new heart.

That's what God can do!  There is no sin God can't blot out and their is no heart God cannot create when one truly confesses and asks for forgiveness.

Maybe right now you feel your heart is broken beyond repair.  That's not true!  God can create in you a new heart just as he did with David.

In Psalm 51: 12, 13, David says, "Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant  me a willing spirit, to sustain me.  Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will turn back to you."

David was not only sorry, he confessed and turned from his sin.  Out of gratitude to God David wanted to help others who had sinned like he had.  He wanted others to know the joy he found in the Lord and enjoy their life to the fullest.

How about you?  Are you enjoying this life today?  Are others in your family enjoying the life God wants them to have?  Use your tongue, your hands and your feet, to bring peace to your home and to others.

If you have overcome difficulties share and encourage others who are going through the same struggle.  There are a lot of success stories that need to be heard!

Seldom have I met people who didn't know what they needed to do when seeking counsel.  Don't waste your time searching for the answer when the answer is right in front of you.

In John 10: 10b, Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."  When I was a younger Christian I used to think this life Jesus wanted us to have was a life to be enjoyed when our hearts stopped beating and we left this difficult world.  But I was wrong.  The life Jesus promises is a life that can be enjoyed today, and in to eternity.

Life's problems are not always as difficult as we would like to make them.  Too many times we make our problems and questions so difficult in our own understanding that when we hear a simple answer we believe that can't be right.

The answer is right in front of you.  It can be found between your ears, and within your heart, listen, and call on the Lord and others who are there to help you.
